Weekend At Hua Hin

Tanaosri Resort is 231km from Bangkok. A beautiful resort with beach access, white sands, tall palm trees and crystal clear blue green waters. The scenery is just absolutely breathtaking. Although it took us just slightly over 3 hours by bike to get there, believe me, it was all worth the ride out.

We left Bangkok at 9am Sunday morning after breakfast at our usual place at Beer Garden which is located just 5 minutes from our condo. Very conveniently located I must say and after our quick chow down, we headed off on our first long and adventures journey for some well deserved peace and quiet.

It was a long, tiring but yet exciting ride for me considering the fact that I have not been on a motorbike in years. The first few kilometers were just awful as we swayed in between the madness of the traffic and inhalation of fumes and pollution from the motor vehicles but luckily it was not so long till we hit the highway and thus the pleasantry of the scenery was enough for me to absorb and enjoy. Such relief to be finally away from the bustling madness of the city.

The room that Chris got for us was a single storey villa with its walkway a man made bridge over a canal. The canals were filled with hundreds of colourful fishes, the surroundings with luscious green trees and the air smelled just of nature itself, with the occasional sounds of the cicadas in the evenings.

We spent the two nights at Tanaosri just being lazy. We played Frisbee down by the beach, dined at the open air restaurant, took a dive in the pool, swam at the beach, bask in the sun, messed around a lot in the comforts and privacy of our room, biked around the area and by the sea shores and then at the end of the evening, we would sit back and relax and watch the sun set over the horizon. Fortunately for us, the weather held up nicely and we got to really enjoy.

We left on a Tuesday morning around 9am. We weren't so lucky as it rained cats and dogs and we had to make a couple of stops as we were drenched from the heavy rain. Chris was not so optimistic about our ride home but I on the other hand, was hopeful that the rain would pass and that it was not going to rain out. We waited for about an hour before we took off again and was finally on our way home. We arrived at 1.15pm not drenched entirely to the bones, in fact all dried up instead!

My butt hurt from the long ride and was really sore afterwards. Chris teased and poked fun at me about it as it was just so funny. On the whole the trip was fun, exciting and I so totally enjoyed myself. I am certain Chris shares the exact sentiments as I do and I am truly happy we made this trip to Tanaosri Resort. I am already looking forward to our next ride out! I wonder where next....
