Ko Samed, Thailand
Last Sunday, we went on another trip to Ko Samed which is situated on the southeast of Bangkok. This time instead of riding up and leaving the bike unattended, we decided to hop on a bus from Ekamai station which took us
From the bus terminal, we hopped onto a ferry which then took us to the island. The ferry ride was no more than 30 minutes and before we realised it, we had arrived at our destination. Once we got off, we proceeded onto one of the sawngthaew, somewhat of a miniature version of a pick up truck, only it is the thai version of a form of a taxi transport. Together with the other tourists, we all sat cramped like sardine in a can as the driver sped off to our respective bungalow and chalets. The drive thankfully took no longer than 10 minutes as the chalets and bungalows were all in line one after another. So getting us accommodation was not a problem at all.
We soon arrived at Jep's Bungalow, where we had earlier on decided that this was the place that we wanted to spend the night, with a sea- front restaurant with beach access. The room we took was very basic but it had a nice clear view of the beach which was more important to us than anything else! Unfortunately the weather on the other hand was not so promising as the sky was pretty much cloudy throughout the afternoon as the sun tried its very best to sneak past from behind the clouds. Of course to no avail.
The water too was a little chilly as December is actually "winter" here in Thailand, so we did not go into the water except bask in the sun the following day and laze and eat!....yup eat, eat eat! That was all we did, nothing but sit back and relax like all the other tourists who were there to enjoy themselves as well.
We only stayed a night in Ko Samed. Even though it was a relatively short trip, it was a nice short get away. At this juncture and considering the circumstances, a day is better than
It was a good trip, short but wonderful...thanks darling!
